It's been a tiring week. You've been at it left and right, barely having any time to breathe or relax. You've been stressing about the future; about how life will go once you graduate. You just..don't feel ready in life yet. You don't feel like an adult- heck, you never even felt like a teenager. You know life will be hard. Its gonna suck at times. Everyone's told you this. You know this. You should be prepared for this. You know it'll hit you like a semi-truck, but you're just not ready. Why can't time slow down for just one second so-
...you feel a wet spot on your hand, and notice that there's some wet spots on it. And then the spots multiply. You look up, and you realize that its gonna start raining. Hard. And of course you didn't bring an umbrella.
You ditch your previous thoughts for a moment and start running back home as fast as you can, not daring to stop in fear of having to wait even longer in the rain. Water splashes onto your clothes, but you don't care. You just need to get home. Which, after a few minutes, you do. You knock hard on the door three times before switching to getting the door open yourself. The rain really isn't making waiting easy..but now your hands are saying something else, as they're struggling to even put the key in the hole.
That doesn't end up mattering, though, as you soon hear a creak, and then hands pulling you in with a tight embrace. You panic for a second, before you remember that your best friend came over for a sleepover. Sure enough, you look up at their face and recognize them immediately. They've always been fond of hugging.
